Purchasing workshops are designed to build a solid foundation in government procurement knowledge. The workshops are interactive and not only provide classroom theory, but practical application through exercises, case studies, role plays, discussions and quizzes. Class size is limited to facilitate interaction and discussion.

The purpose of this workshop is to provide essential information to contract personnel to establish a successful contract management program. As it is critical that government properly manage contracts, the workshop is designed to acquaint students with all aspects of the contracting process, including best practices and processes. The purpose of this workshop is to help those involved with the public purchasing process to understand the importance of ethical behavior in government contracting. It is designed to help procurement professionals recognize ethical dilemmas and give them the tools necessary to make sound, ethical decisions. Also includes discussion of the various types of procurement fraud and how to recognize fraud indicators. Training Schedule
Continuing Education Hours
Workshop attendance earns a certificate for continuing education hours for purchasing and contracting certifications such as the State of Texas (CPA-TPASS), the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (NIGP), the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) and the Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO).
